The area around Whitegates Farm is well known as an area of outstanding natural beauty. There is a full 600 acres of national trust common land for you to stroll around very close by.

Whitegates Farm is ideal for those who love wildlife with deer and foxes often spotted roaming the nearby fields. Our location is ideal for bird watchers and those wanting to get back in touch with nature.

You can easily walk to the canal, which is shortly to undergo restoration. There is a wide towpath running alongside the canal and it is a very scenic walk to Stroud, the nearest town, approximately 2 miles away.

In Stroud itself there is a railway station, bus station, doctors, dentists, chemist and there are shops of all descriptions. Stroud also has a large cinema and 10 pin bowling hall as well as numerous restaurants and pubs. If you just ned provisions, there is a waitrose store before you get to Stroud and it is directly accessible from the canal towpath.

Nailsworth, a quiet cotswold town, is only 10 minutes away and as well as a supermarket boasts a well known farmers market. Tetbury is another popular excursion, with its old market place. The same is true of Minchinhampton, just 5 minutes away and set in the heart of the common.
